The American Heart Association’s Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support course is designed for healthcare providers who either direct or participate in the resuscitation of a patient, whether in or out of hospital. Through ACLS, you will enhance your skills in treating the adult victim of a cardiac arrest or other cardiopulmonary emergencies.
ACLS emphasises the importance of basic life support CPR to patient survival, the integration of effective BLS with advanced cardiovascular life support interventions, and effective team interaction and communication during resuscitation.
The course is built on simulated clinical scenarios with hands-on learning stations, where you practise essential skills individually, as part of a team, and as team leader.
Emergency, intensive care and critical care providers such as physicians, nurses, paramedics, respiratory therapists and other professionals who may need to respond to a cardiovascular emergency.
You are evaluated through a written exam and a practical skills test, with instructors coaching you through every station.
